04Amendments & renovations to the signal electrification project
Beni Suef/Assiut: 60 km and 268 switches renovated; Assiut/Nag Hammadi: 36.3 km and 218 switches; Nag Hammadi/Luxor: 10.5 km and 25 switches (ongoing).
05Nefisha / Suez line
Renewal of the 22.2 km line at the Shalofa / Abu Halab section.
06Maamoura / Rashid line
Renewal of the 14.3 km distance on the Maamoura / Rashid line.
07Manashy Imbaba / Itay El Baroud line
Renovation of the 14 km stretch between Nakla and Tahrir stations.
08Qabari – Marsa Matruh railway line
Renovation of the 275 km stretch along Egypt's North Coast.
09Assiut / Sohag / Luxor / Aswan renewal & duplication
Renewed ~100 km and duplicated 100 km on Assiut/Sohag; renewed 200 km and duplicated 200 km between Luxor/Aswan.
10Batra / Bisandila line
A new bridge and 4 km of track installed as a first phase, with works ongoing to complete the project.
11Qabari / Matrouh line
28 km built between the branch and Burj Al Arab (first phase of the dual carriageway), plus an 11.5 km diversion and 20 switches.
12East Branch railway line
A new bridge and 36 km of track from the Al-Fardan/Rafah branch point, plus 12.5 km of yards and 4 switches in Port Said.
13Al-Fardan – Rafah railway line
A new bridge and the Al-Fardan line installed over the Suez Canal (225 km); 100 km completed, with 20 switches.
14Adly Mansour / Rubiki dualization
A new bridge and 26 km of dual track on the Adly Mansour/Rubiki line as a first phase, with works ongoing.
15Kafr Dawoud – Sadat line
23 km of track built between Kafr Dawoud and Sadat as a first phase, with the railway bridge underway.
16Connecting Damietta Port to the Tahya Misr dry port
Installation of the Tahya Misr track inside Damietta Port — 1.27 km plus 6 switches.
17Connecting Alexandria Port to the Tahya Misr dry port
Installation of the Tahya Misr track inside Alexandria Port — 1.244 km plus 4 switches.
18Qena – Abu Tartour railway line
A 450 km line with 20 switches built to the Abu Tartour phosphate mines in the Western Desert; operational since 1996.
19Qena – Safaga railway
A 250 km line connecting Qena on the Nile to Safaga on the Red Sea, with station yards and 8 switches; handed over in 1989.
20Luxor – Nagaa Hammadi signalling modernization
Modernizing the signalling system along one of Upper Egypt's most important lines: 37.4 km of the 58.9 km target executed, 81 switches installed and 9 signal towers upgraded to raise safety and speed.
21Mansoura – Mataria round-the-clock renewal
Round-the-clock renewal of an 11 km track section, carried out under difficult operating conditions to keep this vital line in service.
22East Port Said branch renewal
Renewal and maintenance of 6.5 km of rail on the eastern branch, raising safety levels and speeds for freight movement linked to the Suez Canal and the northern ports.
23El-Arish – Bir El-Abd new line (Sinai)
Construction and installation of about 3 km of new developed railway to feed the target development zones in Sinai, with overhead structures matching global standards.
24Kilo 27 solar-powered smart level crossing
Development of the Kilo 27 crossing on the Kafr Dawoud – Sadat line into a solar-powered smart crossing that integrates mechanics and renewable energy with precise sensing and control for immediate, sustainable operation.
25Qantara East & Fardan station-yard upgrades
Raising the efficiency of major station yards and renewing their tracks and switches — including the Qantara East (11 km) and Fardan (14 km) yards — with switch, level-crossing and welding works.
